The express bus to the monkey park operates to and from Bus Stop No.23 outside the East Exit of Nagano Station.
Snow Monkey Express Bus Timetable

Multiple services run through the day with many continuing onto Shiga Kogen - for the timetable for Shiga please see our 'Nagaden Shiga Kogen Express Bus Timetable' page. For visitors heading to the park, the stop is down the hill from the park entrance, outside the Shiga Kogen Roman Museum (pictured above) - approximately a 7 to 10-minute walk from the park trail entrance. From Nagano Station, the bus takes about 50 minutes ~ 1 hour to reach the park. The 2025/26 Winter Schedule, valid from December 6th, 2025 to April 6th, 2026 has been released and is as follows:

En-route to the park there are additional pick-up and drop-off points at roadsides in Obuse and Nakano however these are unlikely to be of interest or convenience for international visitors.
Ticketing & Travel Passes
Tickets are bought directly from the driver once on the bus therefore no advanced booking is required.
A one-way journey costs: JPY3,000 per adult / JPY1,500 per child.
The Snow Monkey Express Bus is also covered by the Snow Monkey Pass*. Starting winter 2025/26, there are 2 different types of Snow Monkey Passes. The Snow Monkey Pass for Train / Local Bus costs: JPY5,100 per adult (aged 13+) / JPY2,550 for children (6-12). The Snow Monkey Pass for Express Bus costs: JPY6,800 per adult (aged 13+) / JPY3,400 for children (6-12). Valid for 1-day use following activation, the Snow Monkey Pass has different inclusions depending on the type of pass you purchase:

1 / Admission to the Snow Monkey Park – one-time only.
2 / Train: 1-day unlimited use of the Nagano Dentetsu Railway (including express trains).
3 / Local Bus: 1 round-trip on the Nagaden Local Bus from Yudanaka Station to Snow Monkey Park Bus Stop.
Snow Monkey Pass for Express Bus:
The pass is valid for 1 day from the date of purchase and includes:
1 / Admission to the Snow Monkey Park – one-time only.
2 / Express Bus: One round-trip Nagaden Snow Monkey Express Bus from Nagano Station East Exit to Snow Monkey Park Bus Stop.
*Please note, the Snow Monkey Pass does not cover services to and from Shiga Kogen.
