Momiji Chaya (もみじ茶屋) is an izakaya-style restaurant with delicious local cuisine. The menu has dishes with ingredients like local Shinshu salmon, raw horse meat, crickets, and many more. The interior has a fresh look to it, making the fresh food taste even fresher.
The last part of the shop’s name, “Chaya” meaning tea house, is to indicate that they put extra effort in making their drinks. They offer many kinds of local wines and sake, one of them being “kotsuzake” which is a special type of drink where the bones of a grilled fish are infused in the sake to give extra flavor to the drink.
There is an English menu available at Momiji Chaya.
