Spring (April–June) is also a great choice, with blooming nature and fewer crowds. While summer is lush and vibrant, this itinerary is not available in winter, as Kamikochi is closed from mid-November to late April.
- Can this tour run in winter?
- Although the Takayama and Shirakawa-go tour can operate during the winter season, the Kamikochi and Shinhotaka tour cannot. Kamikochi is closed from mid-November to late April, making this full 2-day itinerary unavailable in winter. However, if you’re planning to visit during the winter months, please check our Takayama Tours page. for other options and suitable substitutes.
- Do the tours include meals?
- Meals are not included, but your guide can recommend excellent local restaurants for lunch on both days.
- Are hot spring stays part of the tour?
- No, onsen accommodation is not included in the tour itself. However, many guests choose to stay at ryokans with hot spring baths. We recommend booking a place with an in-room bath for added privacy.
