Nara: JR Nara Station Area

JR Nara Station is the second of two main train station – along with Kintetsu-Nara Station – servicing the city. It is however further away from the most famous attractions of the city with sites including Kofuku-ji, Todai-ji, Kasuga Grand Shrine, Nara National Museum and the surrounding Nara Park being closer to Kintetsu-Nara Station. Within 10-minutes walk of Kintetsu-Nara Station, the areas surrounding both JR Nara Station and Kintetsu-Nara overlap and more or less include the same accommodation options. It is worth considering them separately however given that JR Nara Station is further away from the most popular attractions of the city. The area immediately around JR Nara Station has some good budget-range options including business hotels offering some great deals especially mid-week.
