During the 1998 Winter Olympic Games, The White Ring hosted figure skating and short-track speed skating. Today, the venue continues to house an ice-skating rink, open to the public. Since Nagano hosted the Olympic, The White Ring has continued its role as one of Nagano City’s busiest event spaces hosting the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) Word Cup events in 1999, 2003 and 2011, the FIVB World Championships in 2006, and FIVB Men’s World Cup in 2019.
