Available Services at Shiga Kogen Yamanoeki

Visitors heading to Shiga Kogen can make sure of multiple services available at the Shiga Kogen Yamanoeki. As of winter 2020/21, the resorts newest ropeway – the ‘Pulse Gondola’ – will open and operate from Shiga Kogen Yamanoeki down to the ski fields of Giant and Hoppo Bundaira.

Operating hours are yet to be confirmed but are likely to be from 08:30 to 17:00 during the ski season. Descending to the ski fields of Giant and Hoppo Bundaira from Hasuike, the Pulse Gondola will be first ropeway visitors come to when entering the resort from the Nagano City/Jigokudani Monkey Park-side of the mountains.

As such, it will be the most convenient start and end point for anyone coming to Shiga Kogen from Nagano or nearby areas, especially day-trippers who can now head to and from the resort with ease using the Nagaden Snow Monkey/Shiga Kogen Express Bus service from Nagano Station.

Lift passes are available from vending machines inside Shiga Kogen Yamanoeki along with ski and snowboard rental and plans for a ski school (yet to be confirmed).

A café/restaurants, shop, waiting rooms and public toilets are also inside the building, allowing visitors to get ready for their day on the mountain, take a break or a convenient point to wrap things-up before heading onto your accommodation or depart the resort.

During winter we also offer pickup at Shiga Kogen Yamanoeki for our 1-Day Snow Monkeys & Snowmobiling in Shiga Kogen Tour. Including a morning of snowmobiling in the Yakebitai ski fields, the tour then heads for lunch at Hotaru-tei – one of the most popular restaurants in the area – before an early afternoon visit to the Jigokudani Monkey Park.
