Visitors can purchase tickets for the waterpark alone or purchase a combined pass that includes unlimited rides at the adjacent amusement park. The water park is well-equipped with locker rentals, shaded seating areas, and food vendors so you can stay all day, or easily switch between the two parks.

Joyful waterpark is a great summer escape from Japan’s hot and humid summers and is particularly popular with families and young adults.

Yuami no Shima (Onsen Complex)

Also adjacent to the amusement park, Yuami no Shima is one of the largest hot spring complexes in Japan, covering an expansive 33,000 square meters. The facility features both indoor and outdoor baths inspired by the natural landscapes of the Kurobe Gorge and Oirase Stream. The hot spring bathing areas are separated for men and women (Men typically in the Kurobe Gorge themed spring and women in the Oirase Stream bath).

Visitors can enjoy 17 different bathing experiences, including high-concentration carbonated springs, various jacuzzis, and pressure point baths that are said to promote relaxation and improved circulation. All outdoor baths use 100% free-flowing natural hot spring water, and are renowned for their skin-soothing and therapeutic properties.

Yuami no Shima also includes bedrock bath facilities (ganbanyoku), where guests lie on warm stones that emit far-infrared rays said to enhance detoxification and metabolism. Admission to this area requires a separate ticket, although combination passes are available.

The bath complex offers a number of additional amenities, such as spacious rest lounges, tatami relaxation areas, reading nooks, television rooms, and a dining zone with traditional and casual cuisine. Massage and reflexology services are also available with same-day reservations, making this an ideal destination for travelers needing a day to relax.

Nabana no Sato (Flower Park & Illuminations)

Admission:

  • General entry: ¥1,700–¥5,000 (seasonal pricing includes illumination events)

Nabana no Sato is one of Nagoya’s most largest botanical gardens. Open year-round, the park is renowned for its meticulously landscaped flower beds, tranquil walking paths, and seasonal events that draw millions of visitors annually.

During the spring and summer months, the park hosts a series of flower festivals featuring tulips, nemophila, roses, irises, hydrangeas, and dahlias. In autumn, the park becomes one of the top-rated destinations for fall foliage in the Tokai region (Gifu, Aichi, and Mie prefectures), with maple leaf illuminations after sunset.

From October through May, Nabana no Sato transforms into an illuminated wonderland with one of the most elaborate winter illumination displays in Japan. The illumination event includes the famous Tunnel of Light, a 200-meter corridor of lights, as well as the Millennium Garden’s Sea of Light, which surrounds a 1,000-year-old olive tree with shimmering water illuminations. There is also an observation platform offering a rotating panoramic view of the park’s vibrant light displays from above.

Nabana no Sato also has several restaurants including Nagashima Beer Garden, which serves award-winning craft beers brewed using local spring water and traditional German techniques. The garden also offers a variety of seasonal dishes that pair well with the in-house brews.

Note: Nabana no Sato is not located on the same grounds as Nagashima Spa Land, so visitors wishing to enjoy both locations will need to take a bus between the parks. A one way trip between Nabana no Sato and Nagashima Onsen takes about 15 minutes and costs 500 yen.
