Located 12km directly south of the Hakuba Happo Bus Terminal, Lake Aoki is best known for its azure waters and ever-changing seasonal beauty throughout the year. From the cherry blossoms of spring, to the lush forests and inviting waters of summer, followed by the stunning autumn leaves and pure white landscape of winter, the distinctly blue water of Lake Aoki is a striking feature of the landscape.
A campground on the shore of the lake allows visitors to stay and make use of a range of facilities and activities including canoeing and kayaking, while the small ski resort of Kashimayari remains largely undiscovered by international visitors.
No matter the time of year you are visiting Hakuba, a visit to Lake Aoki is always worthwhile. Tours including rafting, kayaking canoeing and SUP (stand-up paddling) can also be arranged on Lake Aoki through Lion Adventure – see website for details.
