Kawaguchiko Station
Kawaguchiko Station is the terminus of the Fujikyu Railway Line and as such, one of the most convenient stations for accessing Mount Fuji and the surrounding area.
While small, the station handles a lot of traffic due to its proximity to Fuji, which can be easily seen from the station. Regular tourist buses run to and from the station including to Mount Fuji – see below for details.
Fujikyu Railway Line
The Fujikyu Railway Line operates along the Otsuki and Kawaguchiko lines and in doing so, connects Otsuki Station to the most convenient stations in the region around Mount Fuji, terminating at Kawaguchiko Station.
The line also includes stops at the following:
Otsuki / Kamiotsuki / Tanokura / Kasei / Akasaka / Tsurushi / Yamuramachi / Tsurubunkadaigaku-mae / Tokaichiba / Higashikatsura / Mitsutoge / Kotobuki / Yoshiikeonsen-mae / Shimoyoshida / Gekkoji / Mt. Fuji (Fujisan) / Fujikyu-Highland / Kawaguchiko*
*Please note, stations marked in bold / red on the map are stops on all services. Those not marked in bold are only serviced by certain services throughout the day.
This train line is not covered by any Japan Rail (JR) Pass. For further information, please refer to our ‘Fujikyu Railway Line’ page.
Bus Services to/from Kawaguchiko Station
Visitors intending to climb Mount Fuji can use the Fujikyuko Bus service from the station to head to the Fuji Subaru Line 5th Station. Enroute the bus also stops at the 3rd and 4th stations.

To get a seat on the bus, it’s best to start from Mt. Fuji Station from where it takes around 60 minutes to reach the 5th station (or 50 minutes from Kawaguchiko Station).
A one-way journey costs around JPY1570 per adult or JPY2300 for a round-trip.
Several sightseeing buses also operate from the station, carrying visitors to many nearby destinations. For further information, please refer to the Fujikyoko Bus website.
