Shin-Osaka Station is serviced by the Tokaido Shinkansen line running east to Kyoto, Nagoya and terminating at Tokyo and the San'yo Shinkansen running west to Kobe, Okayama, Hiroshima and onto Hakata. From both terminals - Tokyo and Hakata - and other stops on the lines, it is possible to switch to the other shinkansen lines including the Hokuriku Shinkansen line running from Tokyo to Nagano.
