Who Are We?
Snow Monkey Resorts Tours, operated by Machinovate Japan Ltd., is a registered travel agency and award-winning tour and charter operator. With our headquarters in Central Japan and offices nationwide, we combine our local expertise and passion for responsible tourism to craft unforgettable travel experiences, ensuring every journey positively impacts the regions we explore.
With offices located throughout the country, we offer group tour excursions from major cities in Japan such as Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya, through Central Japan in destinations like Nagano, Takayama, and Kanazawa, to the south in Hiroshima, and all the way north to Hokkaido. Our tours combine major attractions and sightseeing destinations with local knowledge to give guests unique experiences they might not discover otherwise. Through close collaboration with local communities, we also offer opportunities to experience and take part in local traditions, such as tea ceremonies, overnight temple stays, and washi paper-making, among many others.
Besides group tours, we also offer private customized tours and multi-day tour packages, allowing guests the freedom to choose their own itinerary and the convenience of being picked up and dropped off at their chosen locations. For those not in need of a guide, our private charters are a safe and hassle-free way for small or large groups of travelers to get around Japan with ease.

Our tours are also designed to connect seamlessly, allowing you to combine multiple day trips into a well-balanced, multi-day journey across regions. Depending on the tour, you can also start tours in one location and end in another, transporting you conveniently from one destination to the next!
NAGANO
In the Nagano area, you can visit historic Zenko-ji temple and Matsumoto Castle, explore natural landscapes like Kamikochi and the Alpine Route, and of course visit the famous Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park, just to name a few.

Multi-Day Tours
Mix-and-match our day tours to create a multi-day tour experience throughout the best destinations in Japan! Our day tours are designed to be connectable, allowing guests to book multiple tours all starting from the same spot, most often a Shinkansen (bullet train) train station. This way, guests can book a hotel conveniently near the train station, and our tours will pick you up there each day to take you to the most stunning locations full of history, tradition, and serenity. When you're ready to move on to the next destination, simply join a tour that starts in one spot and ends in another, and your transportation is taken care of!

For example, this 2-day tour begins with our most popular Snow Monkey Tour on the first day, including a guided tour of Zenko-ji temple, Japanese-style lunch, sake-tasting, and of course a trip to the Snow Monkey Park. Then, guests will be dropped off at Hotel Kokusai 21 in Nagano City to stay the night (accommodation included in the tour package). After check-out the following morning, you will be picked up from the hotel lobby and board to bus to join our Matsumoto Castle & Narai-juku tour, where you will visit these historic sites and learn about the history of the Edo period. After the tour is over, our bus will take you directly from Narai-juku to Takayama, where you will be dropped off and ready to explore the next destination!

- Can I start a tour in one location and end in another?
- Yes, many of our day tours and multi-day tours are built to allow guests to start in one spot and end in another! For example, depending on the tour, you can start in Nagano and end in Matsumoto, or start in Takayama and end in Kanazawa, or vice versa. Make sure to check the pick-up and drop-off options when you book online!
- Can I bring my luggage on the bus?
- Yes, you are welcome to bring your luggage on our tour vehicles and keep it there safely throughout the day while you enjoy the tour.
- I want to book a group tour itinerary as a private tour. Is this possible?
- Yes, all of our group tours can be customized into private tours. Please reach out to us through our inquiry form or "request a quote" button to get a custom private tour quote!
- Do your tours run with public transportation or private transportation?
- Most of our tours in Central Japan (Nagano, Takayama, Kanazawa, and Nagoya) run with private tour vehicles that we own and operate. Our tours in Tokyo, Kansai, Hiroshima and Hokkaido run with public transportation only.
- Can accommodation be included in my tour package?
- We can offer accommodation in the Nagano area only, for example in Nagano City, near the Snow Monkey Park, Shibu Onsen, and in the ski resorts such as Shiga Kogen and Nozawa Onsen. These can be included in your tour package, but please note that we cannot offer accommodation in any other area of Japan.
