Kamikochi sits in the middle of the Japanese Alps and is accessible either from the west or the east side. The eastern route comes form Matsumoto, another city with a long and storied history. This tour cuts through central Japan and offers a good mix of spectacular nature and and traditional culture and architecture. This tour starts in Nagano City, where you will first head with your guide to Zenkoji Temple, one of the oldest temples in Japan and the cultural heart of Nagano City. After enjoying a sake tasting, you will have a filling Japanese-style lunch in a local restaurant. After getting your fill, we will head to the Snow Monkey Park to see the monkeys in their natural environment. They are most likely to be in the onsen during winter, but they are lively and active at any time of year. You will end the day at your hotel, Kokusai 21.
Day 2 of the tour will see you riding our bus once again, this time to Matsumoto Castle, one of the oldest castles in Japan. You will even have the chancer to ascend to the top floor with your guide! After some time to explore downtown, the tour will head to the largest preserved post town in Japan, Narai-juku.

At the top you will have time to enjoy the panorama that is the Central Japanese Alps.
