Hakuba 47 Winter Sports Park

Hakuba 47 Winter Sports Park

Connected to Hakuba Goryu via the upper runs, Hakuba 47 is in itself relatively small but combines with Goryu to offer visitors one of the largest areas of interconnected ski fields in the Hakuba Valley. Many if not most visitors will take advantage of this with a joint ticket, but to keep things simple, let’s first look at the numbers just for Hakuba 47. The resort sits between 820 to 1614 metres with a good amount of vertical – 794 metres. Only 8 ski runs are serviced by 6 lifts, adding-up to a mere 30 to 35ha of terrain.

Runs are spilt into: beginner 30% / intermediate 40% / advanced 30%. While that might not sound impressive, the upper runs are very steep and the resort is known for its powder, making it popular with intermediate and advanced skiers and snowboarders; and when combined with Hakuba Goryu using a joint ticket, visitors have access to 24 ski runs. Some excellent off-piste/tree runs are open to advanced skiiers and snowboarders but to access them, you must join the ‘Double Black Diamond Club’, sit through safety briefings and then wear identifying bibs. Boasting Hakuba’s longest season, steep terrain, a very good terrain park and halfpipe and known for the quality of its snow, Hakuba 47 offers more than the numbers suggest.
