For our friends living in Japan, you have no doubt heard of the national ‘Go To’ campaign by now. Under that campaign, those living in Japan – including Japanese citizens and foreign residents – are eligible for big savings and discounts through initiatives aimed at boosting specific industries.
The first of those campaigns, ‘Go To Travel’ started on July 22nd 2020 and provides discounts and subsidies of up to 50% on travel within Japan for Japanese citizens and foreign residents.
Our ‘What is Japan’s ‘Go To Travel’ Campaign’ page outlines the basics of what’s involved and covered. Discounts will be applied in the form of subsidised accommodation and ‘common coupons’, that can be used at stores, restaurants and other participating venues.
The campaign is aimed at stimulating travel within Japan and boosting local tourism industries. It is the first of several initiatives under the ‘Go To’ campaign that foreign residents will be able to take advantage of – so its important that you stay informed as to what’s on offer!
