M-Mave Olympic Memorial Arena & Olympic Museum

Located around 5km from Nagano Station and accessible using public buses, M-Wave was one of several Olympic venues used in the city during the 1998 Winter Games. During the Olympics, M-Wave hosted speed skating before hosting both the opening and closing ceremonies of the Winter Paralympic Games in the same year. Since then, the venue has hosted the World Figure Skating Championship, international speed skating events and today, remains open to the public including the Nagano Olympic Museum and giftshop. In winter, M-Wave plays host to a public ice-skating rink, always popular with Nagano locals. Open daily from mid-October until early March; JPY1540 per adult and JPY820 for primary and middle school students.
