Conveniently located between Takayama and the alpine valley of Kamikochi, the five towns making-up the Okuhida Onsen Area boast numerous guesthouses, hotels, and public hot springs. Prices vary greatly from budget to very expensive, with something to suit all tastes. Hirayu Onsen is the largest of the five towns – the others being Shin-Hirayu Onsen, Shin-Hotaka Onsen, Fukuji Onsen and Tochio Onsen – and directly accessible from the Hirayu Onsen Bus Terminal. From there, local buses and taxis can transport you to and from you guesthouse of choice.
