During winter: approx. 160 min via Nagano Station / Outside of winter: 75 min drive to the Jigokudani Monkey Park

Reaching Kusatsu Onsen using public is easily done via Karuizawa Station. Take the Hokuriku Shinkansen bound for Karuizawa and once at the station, regular daily bus services run to the centre of Kusatsu Onsen - taking around 80 minutes
