Located just moments from the world-famous Snow Monkey Park, Jinpyokaku offers the perfect balance of nature, comfort, and quiet relaxation — an ideal stay for your winter journey in Japan.

Pure hot spring water is drawn straight from Jigokudani and flows continuously into both the open-air and indoor baths. Relax and soak in the rich, mineral warmth of this authentic onsen — a truly indulgent experience.

Located in the nearest onsen area from Jigokudani Monkey Park, Jinpyokaku offers a luxurious Japanese-style ryokan experience. It has been very popular among Japan’s famous novelists as well as the imperial family since its establishment in 1901.
It is a small, quiet ryokan with 6 rooms, giving it an exclusive atmosphere with staff paying close care to every guest. All rooms are well-equipped with modern comforts, such as free WiFi, TV, and en-suite bathrooms with a western-style toilet and a spa bath that are filled with natural hot spring water. A variety of onsen baths, including both outdoor and indoor onsen for men and women separately or mixed are available for guests.
Located about 35 km (around 50 minutes) northeast of central Nagano City, Jinpyokaku Honten is the closest traditional onsen ryokan to the Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park—making it an ideal base for one of Japan’s most iconic sightseeing experiences.
The ryokan offers spacious, authentic Japanese-style accommodations, where guests can enjoy the charm and tranquility of a classic onsen retreat. Its open-air baths, surrounded by the changing colors of all four seasons, are a particular highlight, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in nature’s beauty throughout the year.
Convenient not only for visiting the Snow Monkey Park but also for accessing the highland ski resort of Shiga Kogen, Jinpyokaku Honten provides a warm welcome, natural hot spring baths, and a memorable stay in every season.

When heading to the hotel using public transport, it will be easiest to do so from Nagano Station, from where an express bus runs directly to the Snow Monkey Park Bus Stop. Alternatively, you can take the Nagano Dentetsu railway to Yudanaka Station – the nearest train station to the restaurant and Monkey Park – and from there, take a local bus to the Snow Monkey Park Bus Stop. Both options take around 50 to 55-minutes in total to reach the hotel. From the bus stop, it is only a very short walk up the hill in the direction of the Monkey Park before you will arrive at the Jinpyokaku. Coming from Tokyo, Nagano Station can be easily and quickly reached using the Shinkansen (bullet train), and from there the journey is as described above. The Jinpyikaku is located in the small hot spring village of Kanbayashi Onsen, which itself is located in the wider region of Yamanouchi – a region including the park, multiple hot spring villages, Shiga Kogen Ski Resort, the smaller ski resorts of Kita-Shiga Kogen and Joshinetsu Kogen National Park.
