As we head into the middle of summer, there’s one thing on our mind here in Nagano… fruit! Lots and lots of tasty fruit!
Blessed with an ideal climate for growing many varieties of fruit, Nagano is without doubt most famous for its apples, followed closely by its grapes and peaches.
Our ‘Enjoy the Fruit of Nagano’ page introduces the region’s delicious variety of apples, grapes, peaches and more and includes information on fruit-picking at one of the region’s many farms while here.
While apples are yet in season, peaches are at their bet in August with different varieties of grape available from mid-August to mid-October.
From late-September to mid-November the orchards will be heavy with Nagano’s huge and delicious apples, ready to be picked directly from the tree or purchased at one of the region’s many markets and road stations.
