As host of the 1998 Winter Olympics, Nagano is home to more than 30 independent ski resorts and some of the deepest powder in the world. The biggest of those resorts is Shiga Kogen, covering more than 600ha of terrain across 18 ski areas including Japan’s highest chair-lifted ski run at 2307 meters. The closest resort to the world-famous Snow Monkey Park, Shiga Kogen is known for its beauty, expansive terrain, and having the best powder in Nagano!
You will be met at JR Nagano Station from where you will be transported to your accommodation in the central village of Shiga Kogen. Arriving in Shiga by 11:30 we will assist you with check-in and orientation at your hotel, collection of your lift passes and (if required) rental gear, before leaving you to hit the slopes in the afternoon followed by dinner at your hotel.

The third day is again yours to hit your favorite areas of Shiga and make sure you’ve experienced the entire resort with the night yours to sort-out your own dinner at any of the nearby restaurants of Ichinose Village.
On day four you can relax in the morning before being transported to the nearby Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park where you will join our tour and English-speaking guide as you visit the world-famous monkeys, followed by lunch, and afternoon visits to Zenko-ji Temple – one of the oldest and most important Buddhist temples in Japan – before ending the day with sake tasting in Nagano City.
