NAGANO CITY
  • Zenko-ji Temple

One of the first Buddhist temples in Japan and holds the first Buddhist statue ever to come to Japan.

  • Nagano City

The area around the station has a lot to offer for shopping, nightlife and entertainment.

  • Winter Olympics 1998

Nagano became famous world-wide as the city holding the Olympics in 1998.

  • Nagano Marathon

Every year in Mid-April a marathon is held that attracts about 10,000 runners.

  • Togakushi Shrine

With a path of hundreds of sky scraping cedars, this shrine is one of the more mystical places in Nagano.

NAGANO CITY

With a history of Buddhism, warlords and ninjas, Nagano City began as a small temple town thrown into the plight of territorial and religious war. Now a bustling little metropolis, with bars and restaurants, Nagano city offers a fun nightlife alongside history and culture with a stunning mountain backdrop.
