Spring is one of the best times of year to visit the Jigokudani Monkey Park for one very important (and exceptionally cute) reason – baby monkeys! April and May are the months during which expectant mothers give birth in the snow monkey park, and we are pleased to announce that we have just welcomed our newest, furriest, and cutest member to the monkey troop!
The first baby snow monkey of 2018 has recently been spotted in the loving arms of its mother. While we haven’t been able to snap a shot of the little guy for ourselves just yet, we wanted to announce the news and share some of the photos that we captured over recent years as the babies emerged into the park each spring.
As soon as we have a photo of the baby monkey we will post it to our blog. Each spring we welcome up to 2o or 30 new members of the snow monkey troop. This number will vary from year-to-year however you can be certain that the arrival of the first baby of 2018 will be followed by many more!
For this reason, spring is one of our favorite times of year at the Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park and we hope that you can join us here as we welcome the newest snow monkeys to the troop and watch them take their first awkward steps, leaps, and stumbles into park.
If you would like to experience this adorable time of year with one of our local and experienced guides, we offer daily tours to the snow monkey park in conjunction with afternoon visits to other nearby sites.
… and we’ll post photos of the babies as soon as we have them!
