The town of Yamanouchi, also referred to Yudanaka or the Snow Monkey town, has a new Japanese dining restaurant right in front of Yudanaka Station called “GOEN”. They bring you a variety of local dishes prepared with great attention to detail.
At GOEN you can enjoy a lunch with reasonable pricing from around 900 yen. The lunch menu has something for everyone. You’ll find dishes like soba noodles, local Shinshu pork fried with ginger and several kinds of sushi like pressed sushi and vegetable sushi.
GOEN is open for lunch from 11:00 till 15:00.
GOEN feels like a refined Japanese izakaya around dinnertime. On top of staple izakaya food like edamame, yakitori and fried chicken, you’ll find dishes like bagna càuda made with local miso paste, fried salmon skin, fish carpaccio.
GOEN is open for dinner from 17:00 – 22:30 (last order at 22:00)
The drink menu is diverse with local beers, wine and sake, alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails, fruit juices and cafe-style coffee and tea. So whether you want to cool down from the hot summer weather or warm up from the cold winter, GOEN has got you covered.
If you are not looking to sit down and want to catch the next possible train, then you can use the takeout corner at GOEN. Here you can order for example sushi, french fries or cake from the takeout menu. Many of GOEN’s drinks are also available for takeout.
The takeout corner is open from 10:00 in the morning.
